Tear yourself away from your sun lounger and explore the coastline at the Limski Kanal.
You can drive (approximately 25km from Poreč) or take a boat to Limski, a picturesque cove 10 kilometres long and 500 meters wide, with numerous caves, overgrown shores and fisheries.
This deep sea channel cuts inland with steeply sloping wooded sides and caves cutting into the limestone cliffs. As you drive, stop off at one of the many viewing towers where you can climb up onto wooden platforms to take photographs from the top downwards over the Kanal.
Due to the purity of the water here, the channel has been designated a Marine Reserve and is known for the mussels and oysters that are farmed here. Visit the small wooden hut where you can buy fresh shellfish or try one of the two restaurants and taste an array of the wonderful local seafood and fish, drink fine wine and take in the views from the terraces or visit the colourful stalls selling grappa, cheeses, truffles, jewellery and souvenirs during the summer season.
